In November 2017, the Cochise County Library District moved from its old online library catalog (iBistro) to a new one called Enterprise.  The new catalog comes from the same vendor (SirsiDynix), and offers much better search functions and other features.  Because iBistro was so old, and the vendor had made changes to their product line, the Library District was able to transition to the new catalog without added cost.

Here are a few of the new features to explore:

Basic search options appear on every library landing page, and every page of search results

Cover images for most items are now included in the catalog

The "Place Hold" link is much more visible

There are useful new ways to limit search results, including an "Only Show Available" option

Digital materials (ebooks and downloadable audiobooks) are easy to find, and you can access them directly from the catalog

The transition to the new catalog was a big project, and staff from the Library District worked closely with the branches and municipal libraries to create the best possible user experience.  Library users were invited to work with the new catalog for several weeks in September and October, and they provided valuable feedback as well.

Having said all that, there is always room for improvement.  If you have questions or feedback about the new catalog, or you would like help with the new features, check with your library or contact Cochise County Library District Director Amadee Ricketts (aricketts@cochise.az.gov/520-432-8935).

Thank you for using the library.  We are here to promote the joy of reading, the discovery of ideas, and the power of information.  And we think the new catalog is a powerful tool to help carry out that mission.
