The continuation of the interplanetary adventures of Dr. Ransom. Perelandra (the planet Venus) has as its first two human inhabitants the King and the Lady. Evil, in the form of an earthly professor of physics, Dr. Weston, invades Perelandra. He is snakily intent on tempting the Lady in this new Paradise, but he faces in Dr. Ransom, a Cambridge philologist in Perelandra on his second interplanetary trip a very powerful adversary.
