When exotic pet store owner and occasional sleuth Robin Light is hired to investigate pet psychic Pat Humphrey, who has found wealthy Rose Taylor's supposedly kidnapped cat and earned a place in Rose's will, she is surprised to discover that Pat just might be the real thing, and when Pat is murdered, Rose is plunged into a world of betrayal and greed where nothing is what it seems.
