Join the crew of the Triple Nickel on their hair-raising, action packed, humorous, and mildly strange journey of Wildland Firefighting. The American Southwest is ablaze with wildfire ... again! It seems the wildfire season is becoming longer and more intense with each passing year. Pablo, Diane, and Phil are members of the Mimbres Springs Fire Department, a small department located in southern New Mexico. They are called into service to help fight a large campaign wildfire in northern Nevada, and eagerly jump at the chance to man their brush truck, the Triple Nickel (B555). They have fought local wildfires earlier this summer, but being called up to any large campaign fire like this Nevada fire, is like being called up to the Big Leagues! Fighting fire is always a dangerous undertaking and the crew is aware that despite all of their training and physical conditioning, Mother Nature is immensely greater than they are, and she shows no mercy when it comes to wildfire. Despite the risk, Pablo, Diane, and Phil know these fire assignments produce adrenaline-pumping adventure and provide fodder for some exceedingly tall tales.
