Summary:
The 70th Arizona Town Hall, held in Prescott on May 4-7, 1997, addressed "Forging an Appropriate Transportation System for Arizona." Arizona's explosive growth, coupled with its vast land mass, has resulted in a struggle to keep pace with ever-expanding transportation needs. Discussions centered on ideas and recommendations regarding the increasing demands that will be imposed on our transportation system and the related very significant resource challenges. Participants worked toward building consensus on finding appropriate answers to these competing interests and identifying funding sources to meet these growing needs.
