It's off-season on Martha's Vineyard: Thanksgiving has come and gone, and hunting season is in full swing. J. W. Jackson - retired cop, dedicated fisherman, and passionate cook - is more or less holed up with his family for the winter. But the outside world intrudes when an old Vietnam buddy asks J.W. to virtually smuggle him back to his home on the Vineyard.
