Anna and Naaman Nickell realized that they had a unique opportunity to capture and preserve the stories from the people whose families had already lived in the Sunsites area (especially the ranchers), and the many people, with diverse backgrounds, who had moved here. They slowly began acquring mementos and stories that spanned the previous 40 years and continued to add to the collection until 2012, which was the 50th anniversary of Sunsites.
